I think the June driver fixed the issue for me, I played for about an hour without encountering the issue.
Edit: Update, the issue persists.

Every 19.3.1, .3, + Drivers are giving performance issues. The ONLY drivers working properly are the 19.2.2 at least on the MBP 15" VEGA 20 and also the OLD 17.12 that comes with Bootcamp however you wont be able to play some modern games.
Stay with 19.2.2 and ditch all the new ones including the JUNE 2019 release. on regards the Intel XTU you ONLY need to lower the "Turbo Boost Power Max" from 100W all the way down to 20W.
I always test the new Drivers and i have notice performance decrease and even stuttering on the latest versions, something i NEVER had before.

I have the same problem also I drop fps with frequnza of the core that decreases.
Could it be the temperature rise?
I have imac 27 late 2015 with cpu I5 e m290. Version of windows 1903
before updating windows I had no fps drop problems, I have tried a myriad of drivers since I upgraded to windows but I can't find one that doesn't give problems.
what is the max temperature for m290?

I tried almost every driver available. Pretty sure it has something to do with a Windows Update. Its sad because my Imac did work wonders now i cant even play fortnite anymore because after 5 min my gpu speed drops by 90 procent its been month now and I have not found a fix

I wonder if this is a bug MS or AMD has introduced recently. I've been gaming on my system (2014 iMac with m295x, same as Mat) for several years and have been playing the same game (Rocket League) and just recently started having random stuttering which is indeed usually reduced by switching to the desktop and back. How are you monitoring GPU frequency? I have looked at windows task manager and nothing appears to be stressing the system when these drops occur, nor does the temp (low 90s c) of the GPU seem to be higher than it has historically. Probably a driver bug, though using macsfancontrol can help stop this from happening in my experience. It happens to me in Shadow of the Tomb Raider though temps do increase to 100 C before this happens on my M295X. I use MSI Afterburner to monitor GPU frequency. I reinstalled windows with stock drivers, and problems seemed to solve. But after a few days, it appeared again. Tried newest 19.6.1. drivers, gives me frequncy drops to 230ghz every few seconds which leads to fps drops to 2-3 fps.

Use 19.2.2 instead didnt work for me. Core frequency drops to 500hz with 19.2.2 which is still unplayable 25 fps compared to 60 with 1004hz on MPB 15 2018 with 560X Same goes for stock 17 version. Maybe it has something to do with windows updates, because after clean windows install, no problems.

I reinstalled windows again and disabled updates, same problem. What I noticed, is when my mac tempretature reaches 80 degrees, it starts to cool down to 60 and thats where fps, gpu and cpu frequcny drops. Cpu drops from 2,8 to 0,8. Gpu from 1004 to 200-300. I already tried undervolting with xtu all the way down to 20 watt, and limiting gpu frequcency by 800ghz. What is it? Poor overall macbook 2018 design? Im worried if my machine will throttle like this with eGPU, as I planned to get RTX2070 Aorus gaming box for windows gaming. But if it will throttle like this with eGPU, its pointless.
update: I unplugged power cable, and throttling has almost gone, it throttles for a few minutes when I just start playing and fans kick in, but after Ive had CPU around 2,0-3,5 ghz range and GPU at 800-900hz. Still not a solution, cause won't last long without power.
update 2: doesnt matter if power cable is plugged or not, still throttles.

I have imac 21' i5 late 2017 with radeon pro 555 , and Mantiz EGPU with Radeon vega 58. I can run my egpu on my late win 10 under bootcamp. I tried all as instructed, but no luck. when i DDU and install latest adrenaline, Win10 turn the driver become radeon pro 555 without problem , and then I turn on egpu and windows recognise my radeon vega 58 and asked for restart. after restart , all screen (imac and 3 monitors // 2 hdmi + 1 dvi) turn to black screen just after the windows logo. I need help to get this work. any suggestion ?

I have the 2018 15" MacBook Pro with the 560x. As far as I can tell, the 560x has a max power draw of 40w. However, it can frequently surpass this in demanding games under Windows. My belief is that when this happens the GPU clocks down massivly to compensate. It could also be general temperature caused by the CPU. Power management is broken under boot camp. You can try to use Intel extreme tuning utility to cap the power consumption on the cpu to around 20w. The 560X has a 35w max power draw its the same as the 560, it is standard behaviour to throttle to around 750mhz during high load and lower if also stressing the CPU. this is going to sound insane but please try gaming again for extended periods of time on a thick glass or metal surface eg a glass table and see if the problem still persists. You are a wizard! Thank you! Sorry didn't try your advice earlier...Didn't find any glass or metal surfaces. Finally got to game on glass table, and it finally helped! Cpu frequency is stable around 2,5 ghz and 1004ghz for gpu for half an hour. Before it started to throttle like after 5 minutes. Now I wonder if I can buy some glass plates to put on my wooden desk? Because I cant always have my mac on glass table where I tested it.

Same thing happens on my Vega 20. I didn't want to go through the struggle of shipping my Mac and doing an eGPU again, especially considering the fact that this card is capable of gaming without the nonsense throttling. I honestly don't care if it's generating heat since I usually upgrade often anyway.

No throttling, 1262 MHz core clock 99% usage
