Hello Mat, thank you for your work.
I also have the same problem. I use MacbookPro 2018 with 560X.
About a month ago I installed 19.3.3, it worked well at first for about 2 weeks. Then sometimes FPS dropped to 3 for several seconds when I was playing any games. At last it can never work normally.
I tried using 19.3.1,but the problem happened again. Then I back to 19.1.2, the problem disappear, however the performance is even worse than AppleDriver.
Now I'm using 18.40 on the AMD website, the performance is just passable. I really miss 19.3.3!
2019/6/10 edit:
Eventually I found out it was a heat dissipation problem. On 19.3.3 I reduced the core frequency by 50 Mhz and the problem no longer appeared. Follow the instructions in the read me file for activating WattMan using MSI Afterburner which will allow you to decrease the core frequency by 50 MHZ.
By the way, I found that USB hub causes a lot of heat and increasing the airflow tempreture by about 10 degrees (according to iStat Menus on macOS). When I plug my USB hub on the right side of my laptop, the FPS drops(default frequency). When I plug the hub on the left side, the graphic runs well. So I guess, because the graphic chip is on the right side, heat caused by USB hub affect heat the dissipation of graphic chip. Am I right? I also want to know how tu reduce the heat of USB hub. Thank you!
Note from Mat: Decreasing the core frequency even more (e.g. by 75-100 Mhz) may be necessary to stabilise any overheating issues.

Hello, how did you reduce core frequency by 50 Mhz? I have same problem, but when I try to change frequency with MSI afterburner, after clicking apply button, changes I've made dont save and frequency reverts to stock whatever number I type in.

At first I also can't change the core frequency just like you. But then I used MSI Afterburner to active WattMan (according to the "Readme" file attached to the Driver package of Matt), then I succeeded.

Thank you! I decreased core frequency by 50hz and perfomance boosted a lot, but still FPS drops from stable 60 to 6 every few seconds if I play with power adapter connected. If I unplug power supply, I have 30-50 very unstable fps but with no drops to 6. Bet its something to do with overheating, but dont know how to fix it. I already switched windows to perfomance mode. Will try with different drivers later today.

Downloaded 19.1.2 V3 and decreased core frequency by 50 hz. No drops to 6 fps, but 1 minute after launching a game fps drops from stable 60 to 30 and frequency drops down from 954 hz to 300hz. What is it? GPU thermal throttling? Can tweaking fans with FanSpeed help?

MacsFanControl doesn't work with Macs that have the T2 security chip in BootCamp. Recommend trying to downclock the core frequency even further to maintain a more steady FPS. The frequency dropping to 300 Mhz could be a driver bug.

I reverted to stock Apple Video Drivers, still frequency drops to 300-500hz after a minute of playing. Any ideas? Is trying to reinstall windows my only option left?

I have the 2018 15" MacBook Pro with the 560x.
As far as I can tell, the 560x has a max power draw of 40w. However, it can frequently surpass this in demanding games under Windows. My belief is that when this happens the GPU clocks down massivly to compensate.
It could also be general temperature caused by the CPU. Power management is broken under boot camp. You can try to use Intel extreme tuning utility to cap the power consumption on the cpu to around 20w.

I got consistent 60 fps with 950hz core frequency. But I decided to try this with 19.3.3, cleaned drivers in safe mode, and now I cant install any driver. For all bootcampdrivers it gives me error 1603, adding certificates doesnt help. And I also cant install stock Apple driver, it proceedes throught the installation, reboots, but driver doesnt install, I'm stuck with Windows driver and now cant play anything at all This is exhausting... I tought of uprading to RTX2070 Aorus Gaming Box, but if gaming with eGPU on mac is THAT hard, Ill just stick to PS4 Pro

Try running DDU multiple times in a row without restarting and make sure it's the latest version.

The 560X has a 35w max power draw its the same as the 560, it is standard behaviour to throttle to around 750mhz during high load and lower if also stressing the CPU. this is going to sound insane but please try gaming again for extended periods of time on a thick glass or metal surface eg a glass table and see if the problem still persists.

I think its a driver problem. Thanks to Mat advice, I ran DDU without restarting and was able to install drivers again. But again, fps drops on any driver after a few seconds of gameplay. If I quit to desktop with alt tab and then return to game, fps returns to 60 for like 10 seconds and drops again, even with Apple drivers. And now XTU and downloadcking core doesnt help agian. Maybe its some error during driver installation, will try uninstalling multiple times and installing again.

No mater how I delete dirvers with DDU or what driver version I install, still get core frequency drop to 200-300 mhz after a few seconds on full gpu utilization during gaming. Am I the only one with such problem? Maybe radeon 560x is just not capable of gaming or people can game on it without such drops?

I wonder if this is a bug MS or AMD has introduced recently. I've been gaming on my system (2014 iMac with m295x, same as Mat) for several years and have been playing the same game (Rocket League) and just recently started having random stuttering which is indeed usually reduced by switching to the desktop and back. How are you monitoring GPU frequency? I have looked at windows task manager and nothing appears to be stressing the system when these drops occur, nor does the temp (low 90s c) of the GPU seem to be higher than it has historically.

Probably a driver bug, though using macsfancontrol can help stop this from happening in my experience. It happens to me in Shadow of the Tomb Raider though temps do increase to 100 C before this happens on my M295X.
