Hi Mat, unfortunately I am having issues with the July release for Vega MBPs. The GPU clock seems to be stuck at idle/2D clock of 317 MHz for some reason. I have tried several games, as well as synthetic and compute benchmarks. I do not think it's a temperature issue as it is around 50C under load. So currently on my Vega 20 MBP, only the official Apple BootCamp AMD drivers and Adrenaline 19.2.2 work perfectly (constant 1262 MHz core clock). Adrenaline 19.3.1, 19.3.3, and June edition have erratic GPU clockspeed (bouncing between 317 and 1262 MHz) Adrenaline July edition is simply stuck at 317 MHz. I always safe mode DDU before each install. Mine does the same for my M295X. I think its just not reporting the correct clock speed. If it was at 317 MHZ then you would experience a massive loss in FPS.

Ok I understand. Also, how come the July release is a “Radeon Pro” driver whereas previously it was simply Radeon? What is the difference?

one is gaming focused the pro software is geared towards workstations but its what the AMD installer package thinks is most suited to the graphics card. I can of course change this back again with a simple registry tweak in the installer.

In case it resolves the aforementioned issue. I greatly appreciate your work and I can understand if you don't have the time to do it this month.

If anything it can introduce issues such as resolution bugs on imac 5k

Thanks Mat HD!
Can anyone report back with their experience of this release on Vega 56 (iMac Pro)?

Were you able to apply a core overclock with Afterburner or the Radeon Settings app? I have a stable +300 overclock on my Radeon Pro 570 in 19.3.3 through Wattman, don't particularly want to lose that. I've made attempts to mitigate it so hopefully should be an improvement. Recommend you always use macsfancontrol if you don't have a t2 chip inside your mac. Thanks for the reply Mat! Here's my initial impressions on a 460 Macbook Pro:
-Frames seem to be improved (have yet to notice the core clock throttling) and heat management seems to be better. However, my temps are not getting as high either so maybe I need to do more stress testing to confirm and also try different games/benchmarks.
-Adrenaline is now the blue version, I'm assuming that's due to the the unnecessary features being removed. The only one I really miss is the frame rate control. Adrenaline software seems to chug a little bit and perform slowly compared to earlier driver versions, but that's not a huge deal.
-Adjusting gpu memory and gpu clock speed in Afterburner no longer works (doesn't stick when you accept changes), though adjusting core voltage still does. This is similar to how it worked back in 19.2.2.
Overall, so far very happy with the new drivers. Thank you for the improvements!

Hi and thanks for these drivers! I see there are some things added regarding eGPUs. I have a MBP with Radeon Pro 460 GPU and a Razer Core X. I want to purchase the external GPU as well, probably a Vega 64. With these latest drivers do we still need to do all the hacking from eGPU.io or it will simply work when plugging in the eGPU via T3? Thanks.

Thanks. You need to go through some specific steps from egpu.io still. All it really is booting up with egpu disconnected then once logged in turn egpu on then remove egpu device from device manager then restart with egpu on.

You'll never lose that. If it doesn't work for you in this release you can always redownload 19.3.3.

Hi, Mat!
Quick question - is the RX5700 officially supported in eGPU configuration? I have a MBP2018 with RadeonPro dGPU and an Akitio Node that runs well with the RX580, but as of yet (including 19.7.2) no luck getting the RX5700 detected.
Also, I am not sure if the Radeon Pro drivers support eGPU either (you workaround -as mentioned above- installs the Pro drivers instead of the regular ones [which it hadn't in the past, btw]).
Anyways, keep it up! Awesome work :-)

Thanks Mat HD! Can anyone report back with their experience of this release on Vega 56 (iMac Pro)? Did a DDU without Safe-Mode, then Restart and did run the setup.exe and installed fine. So far everything is running like a charm on my iMac Pro with Vega 56 and FPS seems around the same like before.
