Before I start, I just want to say thanks Mat for creating this website and all the work you do. It's damn frustrating that Apple/Bootcamp forces us to stick with years old drivers without any traditional means of updating! Your site is a god-send.
Ok, so I guess many people here are in the same boat as me RE: updating drivers for Bootcamp, however I'm hoping that I can get some help solving my performance issues from some like-minded people!
I'll start with my rig- I'm on a 2GB R9 M370X, 16GB Ram, Windows 10 (64 Bit) Retina Display i7, running Bootcamp. I bought it last year in February 2016, so I guess this would be the 2015 MacBook Pro?
Now onto my problems.
Right, besides gaming this computer runs like a dream, super fast etc. I've virtually never had an issue with it. However, and I've seen this many times, on various forums when researching new drivers etc, I see people claiming to be running something like GTAV at a super-high resolution perfectly smooth at 60FPS. Even Mat has a video of Battlefield 1 running on High settings and while I haven't tried THAT specific game, I know already there is no way I would be able to do the same.
To put this in perspective, I have to run GTAV, along with most new games like Witcher 3, Rise of Tomb Raider etc at MAX 1280x900 resolution or the games are unplayable. And along with this, medium settings are my go-to. It pisses me off to no end that I can't even play these games on an acceptable resolution, and I never have been able to.
I'm aware this laptop isnt a gaming laptop, so to speak, however the GFX card and CPU, RAM etc should be able to push out a far better performance.
Does any one have any helpful advice? Tips to try? A certain miraculous setting in Bootcamp that suddenly makes my machine game properly?
Thanks again!
Matt
*EDIT* Oh yeah I should mention that I have updated to the latest drivers from this site, however performance hasn't improved at all. In fact the Witcher 3 runs about 500% worse :-(
