Mac Pro (2013) Dual Firepro D700 GPU, 64Gb, 6 Cores
Hey guys,
I'm currently using the November addition drivers in my machine due the preceding versions, including April causing blue screen with horizontal lines, an issue that has already been lightly spoken about amoungst the forum.
As mentioned in another thread, AMD recently brought out a driver update for Boot Camp Unified Driver R3 for Windows 10 on 3/23/2020
www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/apple-boot-camp
But in this Reddit forum of mostly Mac Pro (2013) users with similar specs complained about the bugs and to use November addition from BootCampDrivers.com
https://www.reddit.com/r/macgaming/comments/ftmrdv/amd_boot_camp_unified_driver_r3_issues/
I use Revit, Autocad, Rhino 3d, grasshopper, 3ds max (not for rendering, autodesk for max stop supporting the software on mac hardware a couple years back), Unity3d, Lumion, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and play GTA5, Total War:3 Kingdoms and No Man Sky. Iv'e configued each program in the AMD interface to recommended settings, and adjusted the graphics settings for the programs in display setting and in each indurvidual program settings. Only over a month ago I had to reinstall Windows cause it crashed. I have MacFan Control to keep the temp under 70celsius cause in 2017 apple had to replace the GPU cause they melted even though the machine was 3 months old. But that could be because of this hothardware.com/news/apple-quietly-recalls-2013-mac-pros-due-to-defective-amd-firepro-gpus
Anyway I do everything to optimise my mac, when it runs, it runs really really great, can't fault it, but now occasionally it will just black screen or freeze for no reason after the drivers become a few months old.
it it time to buy external graphics cards or to continue to have pactience.
Thanks
