you're sure about that? When I was rocking that version I had almost no problem in gaming -as far as the witcher 3 is concerned- I had almost 50 to 60 fps while as now I barely hit 45 Yes I reinstalled windows plenty of times with different versions always had the same throttling issues. There was moments when I thought throttling was gone but the thing is, throttling isn’t always obvious and evolves through time (and seasons, room temps are pretty high theses days compared to a few months back). There’s different versions of GPU throttling I experienced them all : The first day I wanted to record throttling, I was able to play during +2h at constant 99% GPU usage without any 40W throttling, or when it happens it quickly recovers to 50W. (Sadly it failed recording it ... so I have no footage) Then the day after, I experienced 40W throttling more often and after 20min of gameplay but it never throttled down to 30W 500Mhz. Finally, I had the 30W throttling, the day after. And then the 20W 300Mhz throttling when hitting over 80°C. Maybe you were in the first throttling phase on 1909 build. This may as well be the only way to completely fix the throttling issues in this laptop if you've already tried everything. However, I'm still surprised other people on Reddit somehow play games in Boot Camp on unmodified 16" MBPs. Five Reddit users have already used thermal pads on the VRMs and reported no severe CPU and GPU throttling while being able to sustain temperatures 80 degrees Celsius and above very well.

Is there any way to reduce thermal throttle? GPU clock literally wont go up 300mhz

Is there any way to reduce thermal throttle? GPU clock literally wont go up 300mhz I have hyperlinked a potentially foolproof solution above, but it involves getting inside. However, you can remove the thermal pads on the VRM MOSFETs, so Apple won't know and not void your warranty.

Yeah I saw that however I'm not cut out for that kind of stuff, also does anyone have any idea how can I go back to the 1909 build? I don't have the recovery option since I directly installed the 2004 version, any ideas?

Yeah just did that, running on 1909 now and it's even worse than 2004, can't even get to stop the stutter and freeze and the fps won't go above 20, GPU clock pinned at 240mhz. Just lol

Uhm guys, I don't know if the question has been raised here before but do you think that the GPU throttling can be solved in the next driver update whenever they'll drop? because it actually hurts going from 900-1200 to under 300 Mhz.. and hey when do you think the updated driver will drop, because we are already past mid-August.
Be safe y'all.

Be safe y'all. No, that’s not a driver issue. I have the latest drivers from AMD for the 16” with 5600M, and it still throttles. Didn’t see any temp improvement. (Already tried all drivers and I never had any changes in temp when changing) Your only chance to avoid throttling is to limit your GPU wattage and clock with MorePowerTool, tweak your CPU with QuickCpu and to play in a room that is around the low 20°C. Good luck, that’s a pain in the ass to avoid throttling, especially in summer!

It problably is a driver issue(also mat said it might be a driver issue as well), I had this problem when I bought my mbp last year, bootcampdrivers fixed the thermal throttling for me, I had another issue couple months ago after updating my driver and going back to my old driver fixed the issue, now with windows update and all it's totally broken, so it problably will fix it to some certain point. Also summer has an effect too so

Thanks for your answer, problem is that MorePowerTool isn't compatible with 5300 card, I spammed the load bios box but nothing shows up

I second that statement I have the 16” with 5600M also and it throttles night time .....even on Med settings after a while
