Sounds nice. Did anyone manage that on a MBP2018 with an RX560? I don't seem to have the Asus RX550 as an option. Did you follow through with the actual setup, or just use the one windows installs with the inf? guys i improved it even further by choosing the RX 580 X, now i can do higher resolutions and the graphics go way smoother in warzone... try and let me know how it goes ! Great, what about the clock speed ? do they drop when GPU usage is above 95 ?

Hi all,
My use is probably quite unique and I require some assistance...
I have just purchase a new MBP 16, i9 with the 550M.
The only reason I use Windows on it, is to rip my movies with DVDFab as I have paid for 5 lifetime Windows licenses.
The stock drivers were only ripping at 12 FPS, whereas your drivers are ripping in excess of 300FPS (which is what DVDFab expect using Windows machines). However, when the ripping gets to 99%, the GPU memory usage falls to 0 and the system just stares at me blankly (I left it running for 24+ hours).
Can anyone provide any advice as to what is going on here?
I also have a 2015 iMac i5 M395 which has been running DVDFab on the stock driver for almost 5 years. It works fine and gets in excess of 200FPS when ripping, the drivers from here managed almost 400FPS... it is rather strange that a 5 year old i5 with slower RAM and a mechanical drive is operating so much faster than a 1 week old i9.
Please help...

OK GUYS you will not believe what i just did. i have a macbook 16 with a 5500m 8GB on, i use an external screen MP59G BOOTCAMP WIN 10 - 2004 edition updated 2 days ago i had the january drivers blue installed. i downloaded the 20.5.1 from the website of AMD. i started the EXE file, and extracted all files into the AMD directory in C: i went into device manager, selected the graphics card 5500M, manually changed the driver, selected from the driver package in dir: packages/display/wta6A_INF there i selected the u0356013.inf file and from the list of available cards i chose ASUS RADEON RX550 Series then it installs the drivers. i don't even have to restart the computer, the graphics go supersmooth, and i don't have the screen freezes anymore in WARZONE. gameplay is way better. please try it out ! Holy crap this worked for me and my 2019 Mac Pro. I have the Pro Vega 2 and used your method and chose the Radeon VII. No more graphical glitches in modern warfare as with the old official drivers. Thanks!

guys - I am a bit stuck, as I have had to keep on the Jan 2020 drivers on my 16" with 5500, 8gb. I don't use an external monitor. They work great for most stuff, like Destiny and Tarkov, but I wanted to play the Hyper Scape Technical Test and that requires at least the Feb drivers. Every time I try the April ones, I get the black screen and it crashes after like 10 seconds.
I tried to do what liberator had recommended, and downloaded the latest drivers from AMD, but I am not sure how to navigate to the /packages/display/wta6A_INF that he recommended. Instead, I picked from a list of drivers from that screen and found the ASUS Radeon RX550 that he recommends, and it says they are installed OK, but then everything breaks and it's as if I don't have any drivers installed. I go back to DDU and reinstall Jan, so it works now again, but I'd like some guidance please.
Help!!

Help!! ok my friend, not to worry ! so what you have to do is download the install file (EXE) with the drivers. then you click on it, as if you install them. It will ask you in what directory to extract the files. Choose any directory. After it wants to start the installation itself, but you cancel it. then you go control panel, choose your video card, go to properties, then driver, then go totally manual and go to the directory in which you had the extraction when clicking the EXE file. in that directory go to packages/display/ and choose there the .INF file in which all the cards will be shown for you to choose from ! i just picked one with the same chipset, and preferably the fastest in the hope it would suck out the max power of my vid card, after i did the 580XT and it works amazing !

It's in Korean, but you have to click the below text in blue, not select directory, you have to manually select the files, you chose the top option, you have to choose the bottom option there in blue colored text. then you will see another screen asking you to choose the file. UPDATE : i have now downloaded the 20.7.1 files and chose the 580 XT, but it gave me warps and lags in graphics. then i changed it to the 570 XT and i'm getting much better results !! download the 20.7.1 here : drivers.amd.com/drivers/beta/win10-radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-edition-20.7.1-july9.exeOK GUYS you will not believe what i just did. i have a macbook 16 with a 5500m 8GB on, i use an external screen MP59G BOOTCAMP WIN 10 - 2004 edition updated 2 days ago i had the january drivers blue installed. i downloaded the 20.5.1 from the website of AMD. i started the EXE file, and extracted all files into the AMD directory in C: i went into device manager, selected the graphics card 5500M, manually changed the driver, selected from the driver package in dir: packages/display/wta6A_INF there i selected the u0356013.inf file and from the list of available cards i chose ASUS RADEON RX550 Series then it installs the drivers. i don't even have to restart the computer, the graphics go supersmooth, and i don't have the screen freezes anymore in WARZONE. gameplay is way better. please try it out ! Guys i found the solution to all my problems, and probably our problems.
i was able to get best solution with this :
install bootcamp drivers january RED
download drivers 20.7.1 (before i had 20.5.1 and it worked best if you took 540X series from 20.5.1)
install the drivers 20.7.1, it'll make a directory c:\AMD with the drivers on it
in device manager manually select your graphics card (in my case 5500)
then manually choose your 20.7.1 drivers (the U file under the AMD dir it made under : packages\drivers\display\WT6A_INF\ the u0356950 file
then choose RADEON RX590 series and have it install.
reboot pc (manually, it won't ask you but just do it)
then : THE MOST IMPORTANT THING
i had a lot of problems where i had warps and not smooth gameplay no matter what card i chose in the drivers,
that's why you need to install Throttlestop 9.0
google it you can download and install and use it for free.
then in the program choose only : disable TURBO C1E BD PROCHOT set multiplier
and then on bottom select : TURN ON (when turned on it will say: turn off as an option to turn it back off)
most important is to disable the turbo.
have that running, then startup the game, have it redo the shaders
best smoothest gameplay i ever had, and no more glitches, and i can even play on full resolution !!!
try it out and let me know what you think, for me it's a miracle !

Mbp 16 with the 5500m, I have no problems playing MW or any game for that matter with the January 2020 Blue drivers. There is nothing wrong with them. Granted the GPU still downclocks itself into the mud after 20 minutes or so of gameplay, but before it does, its smooth framerates and no glitches or visual issues with the textures.
Oh and I forced the 5600 official bootcamp drivers from AMD onto my 5500m and it did not go well. Complete cluster. Did not work at all. Single digit FPS in all games. The clock speeds were like 80mhz with those drivers. Do not use those unless you actually have an 5600m.
