16 inch MBP change the resolution ratio lower 2K will rebot with April 2020 edition Also having this issue on April drivers. Changing the resolution of the buildin screen hard-locks on a black screen before shutting off. Happens on the desktop or when loading a fullscreen game with a lower res. Doesn't seem to affect an external display.

Hey guys. I think i have a problem. My macbook 16" with 4gb 5500m is always hot in bootcamp and the fans are always running. I am using the Adrenalin January drives. The only change i made is to output 120hz since i sometimes use my 144hz monitor, but the macbook is always hot even when not using the external monitor. is this a known issue or should i reinstall windows?

Hi! Created this account because I got a problem.
I have a 16” MBP with Radeon 5500 8GB and I decided to install the Blue adrenaline edition of Bootcamp Drivers provided on this website:)
I followed the DDU steps smoothly without any problems. I followed the video tutorial on the front page of the website.
Here is the step I struggled with: I opened the AMD driver installation file I downloaded from this site and clicked the reset button, and my laptop restarted. So all good so far. But when the installation continues I get ERROR 1603.
I tried removing then reinstalling C++ but that didn’t fix the issue.
I disabled ThrottleStop and MacsFanControl but that didn’t work either.
I repeated all the safe mode DDU steps again but that didn’t solve it.
I installed AMD’s driver cleanup application which did some magic in Safe Mode but that didn’t work.
I have no idea what to do.
For the moment I have decided to remove my Bootcamp partition and I’m going to reinstall it and repeat again, but if anyone has any idea how I can progress please get back to me, bearing in mind I have very limited experience using Windows:)
Btw was also running the latest Windows software and the latest Apple Bootcamp drivers.
Thanks

Thanks Okay, solved the issue by deleting Bootcamp and reinstalling it again. Instead of using the AMD Adrenaline Blue drivers from April, I used the AMD Adrenaline Blue drivers from January. No issues during the installation. That said, I have no idea what I ought to configure in the settings. Any ideas? Also, can I install normal Windows updates or will that mess up the AMD drivers?

Well just a quick question. With the RED variant of the drivers, is it possible to OC the GPU with MSI Afterburner or something like that? I got an iMac Pro with a Vega56 but the performance is more then abnormally bad with the drivers provided by apple. And apparently the April ones give those scary screen error and shut down the PC after install leaving you in a loop. At the moment I have some kind of odd combination. I just updated the latest apple driver via device manager with the blue one from April which seems to work somehow even with the original "old" Apple Radeon Pro software.

Hi Mat, I have updated the last one with April version and for me all it’s ok. iMac 27 2019 i9-9900 and Vega 48. I played with x-Plane, 11.50b6 Vulkan version, for more than one hour at 4K without problem. thanks a lot gigi I have the same machine. Which April driver did you use, blue or red?. Also, what version of Windows 10 do you have installed?

Hi Mat HD, @mathd & hi all, I managed to install the March Edition on my iMac Pro with a Vega 56 and found out that the error is caused by the Adrenalin Software. So here are the steps. 1. Run 3x DDU in SAFE Mode without restart and restart manually 2. Install the old Adrenalin 2020 Edition drivers 3. Restart your PC in SAFE Mode 4. Install March Drivers via device manager 5. Enjoy! I don’t know how much of an impact the old Adrenalin Software has but I get very good 2k gaming performance with the March drivers. Maybe Mat can tell us what exactly the software does. I also OC‘d my GPU to 1500 Clock and ran different benchmarks without errors or artifacts. Temps are also nice.
