I personally would be more than satisfied with an iMac Pro and the use the rest of the money to buy, you know, everything else I could ever want, like my dream car or all the gadgets I ever wanted

Probably not. I'd get a top spec gaming PC and then a MacBook Pro for travelling if money were no object . |

I wouldn't buy any Mac right now unless Apple transitions to AMD Ryzen. A 64-core Threadripper 3990X system can be built for less than a top of the line Mac Pro.
I'm down for a 16-inch MacBook Pro refresh if it gets the same Ryzen 9 4900HS as the Zephyrus G14 or a custom 10-core processor, miniLED display, and RDNA 2 graphics.

Absolutely not, as a pro user (using SolidWorks & Fusion360) and an avid gamer I felt buying a MacBook Pro was the most expensive mistake I had ever made. If I had the money to buy a Mac Pro I’d just build a really beastly gaming/workstation rig and get 10x more performance per dollar out of that. Also saves me the pain of trying to play games on bootcamp and going thru that whole thermal throttling headache.

Many high-performance Windows laptops, including thinner ones, wouldn’t really suffer from thermal throttling while they are undervolted.
Newer MacBooks running Windows are at a disadvantage over them because their voltage is always locked to stock no matter what you do.
Using Ryzen 4000 processors in MacBooks would significantly reduce the thermal throttling along with optimizing the Windows support software to bring the hardware up to par with macOS, all with virtually no loss of compatibility.
