Hey yall,
Reaching out to anyone who uses an external Freesync compatibal monitor with theyre MacBook Pro, IMac or any other device running in Bootcamp.
For the past few months now, even through the various driver releases, I've been having this weird glitch where as soon as I open Settings in Windows, my monitors refresh rate immediately starts to fluctuate up and down between 144 down to the 60's. Scrolling up and down on any of the settings tabs seems to accelerate it... Literally only in Windows Settings does this seem to happen. I thought I solved this bug/issue by disabling "Optimize for Variable Refresh Rate" in Graphics settings at the bottom of the 'Display' tab in 'System, which seemed to have somehow glitched out my monitors refresh rate when enabled, but now today I went on Youtube while in my windows partition and whenever I put a video to Fullscreen every few moments the refresh rate would drop to 60-67ish and quickly climb back up (Exactly like how in-game FPS drops would... so weird huh..)
Anyway, I would've never caught it if it wasn't for a "Display Monitor's Refresh Rate" setting within my Acer XF270H's internal settings.
It's not an issue (I hope, besides the fact that Fonts start flickering as I scroll through Settings, and now apparently in Edge.
Really curious as to if anyone else has had something similar occur with their Freesync/Variable Ref. Rate monitors in windows..
Also- Might start another thread after I post this regarding what I can only describe as "Low draw distance & shimmering edges and texture flickering" (Searching that on YT will show a few other gamers over the uears who've uploaded the same exact in-game defect I've been experiencing). Seems to be a serious issue with my Radeon 555 that I accpeted as typical for low-end GPU's but after finally researching now, is a very uncommon issue w/ no information online that I could find as to a cause or if my GPU's actually been defective since purchasing my 2017 MBP - so check that out if anyone has any information they'd be willing to share.
