This might not (or most likely is not) graphics driver related. But has anyone else the problem that in games the sound slowly degrades over time and gets crackly and terrible? Restarting the game fixes it but then the problem creeps up again over time.
I'm on an iMac Pro

This has been a commonly reported problem with Apple's Boot Camp audio drivers (and not only with the iMac Pro), when using the built-in audio output (including the headphone port).
Others have reported that using a USB audio device or other external sound card for output avoids the problem. (I always use USB headphones when gaming, and I've never experienced this problem.)

Yes, this is a problem with the Bootcamp drivers. I would recommend getting an external sound card/DAC, that's the only way you can avoid the sound issues.

I have to say though that when I plug in external speakers I do NOT have that pproblem. The only problem with them is that there is a slight delay between what is happening on screen and the output through the spoeakers

Can I plug the USB-C version of this into one of the Thunderbolt ports? Running out of USB Ports. While we're at it - maybe you can recommend a Hub with tons of ports that works with Mac? I know Macs are always kind of iffy with which hubs work

So do I have to plug in speakers into this dongle or will it just act as a soundcard that will use the iMac Pro's internal speakers?

Using a USB adapter would be for external speakers. I didn't realize there was a problem with the internal speakers.
