Hi all,
I've tried many, many times to update the drivers past 18.1.1, and cannot do so. I have tried "in-place" updates without removal of old drivers, as well as clean installs per instructions, but none will take. I have a rImac with 295 vid card. Not sure why
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Chris

What happens when you try to install?

Everything seems to be successful, then when I check settings, still on 18.1.1
I have successfully uninstalled everything before, down to the Microsoft basic adapter, and none will install except 18.1.1 and earlier

so strange. you have the same graphics card as me too. so is DDU up to date? Did you try doing it twice before installing? Have you also tried using AMD uninstall utility instead?

I have not tried the AMD uninstall. DDU was up to date, safe mode. I didn't try to do the DDU twice in a row, because the report in Devices was that I was on the Microsoft Basic adapter, so I thought that was successful. I will try those other options, and check back-thank you

No luck. Stuck on 18.1.1
Tried SafeMode uninstall with DDU twice (latest version) Tried AMDcleanuputility (gave success report) Then tried multiple times to install the latest files from here. Nothing "stuck" and DeviceManager showed Microsoft adapter Tried using the 18.1.1 BCD version and am able to install, and AMD control panel works, shows 18.1.1 It did offer up 18.2 as "preferred," but I went with the local driver 18.1.1 which worked, and I am back to where I was. Better driver than alternative, but would be nice to be on your latest! I'm all ears to any suggestions. Thanks!

Make sure there are no other graphics drivers on your C:/ drive directory including in the AMD folder. Then download the newest version again and go through the procedure again.

Thank you!
Clearing the AMD folder on the C:/drive (my bootcamp partition) did the trick. There was the older version (17.x) in there, as well as the folder for 18.1.1
So, clearing that out allowed me to update to 18.3.1 V2
Appreciate it!
