With the new performance overlay, I've been able to carefully monitor the clock speeds and throttling behavior by my MBP 2016 (Radeon Pro 460). When I'm gaming on the Macbook Pro display itself, the clock speeds vary from 907-556 mHz at the lowest. It typically sits at around 750 mHz or so. It tends to only throttle down to 556ish mHz when the GPU hits 80+ degrees C.
However, when I'm plugged into an external monitor via HDMI and choose to only display onto said external monitor, I'm seeing some really heavy throttling on the GPU. I'm observing speeds of 300-400 mHz on average, translating to a loss of about half the fps I'd normally get in various games. This is with the exact same in game settings as when I'm playing on the built in display. This is pretty disappointing given it would be great to play on my external monitor.
I'm running the newest Adrenaline 18.1.1 drivers. Up to date Windows 10 Creator. I've checked all the power settings and made sure that only the external monitor is in use. The problem seems to stem from how the GPU is behaving when plugged into an external monitor. Any ideas or help about this would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: Should add that I'm using a 1080p 60Hz monitor, which is actually a lower resolution than the internal display on the MBP.

I'd send a bug report to amd if I were you. They can fix this issue for you.

Since your drivers aren't officially supported, under what category should I submit my bug report?
