When trying to install the latest drivers package from website for Mac pro 2013 with D700s during the AMD installer while it is on Installing AMD display drivers step, the system gets a blue screen with stop code "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" and it lists atikmdag.sys as what failed. When the system reboots from blue screen it goes back to have just Microsoft Display Adapter listed in device manager.
Any ideas?

an odd error indeed. try redownloading the drivers as the file it has the issue with may be corrupt. if that doesn't work try using 17.6.2

Mat, I have exactly the same issue (but with Mac Pro 2013 with Dual FirePro D500's). I have tried your 17.8.2 and your 17.6.2 but same problem with both. I have tried many, many options. The best success so far is to install 17.8.2 but choose Custom install and only tick Display Drivers. This seems to list both adaptors in Device Manager correctly (all other options list either one or both display adaptors as Microsoft Basic) but still does not get as far as installing Crimson System Tray App and still has BSOD! Any ideas?

Oz can you try an even older version than 17.6.2. One I know which version works for you I can swap the necessary files into the latest Mac Pro driver.

Mat, thanks for getting back to me. I will start going backwards through the drivers and see what works for me. Any ideas why it wouldn't be working?
P.S. I am on Windows 10 Anniversary (1607) but not Windows 10 Creator (1703). Could this make a difference? Also, I am removing drivers with DDU in Safe Mode but installing the new ones in Normal Mode. Is this correct?

Mat, good advice! Seems to have worked with 17.5.2. Only just installed so there may still be problems but it was the only version of the drivers that actually got to the end of the install process without a BSOD! I'll keep you posted...
ilovepancakes - try 17.5.2 (after using DDU in Safe Mode first to get rid of the old drivers) and see how it goes... (good luck!)
