CRITICAL QUESTION BEFORE YOU WASTE YOUR TIME RADING THIS:
Part of the issue is that I don't quite understand what problem is being solved by these modded drivers here at bootcampdrivers.com
ERGO: If I am able to choose, download and install the authentic AMD drivers directly from their site and they work fine already, is there still a need for the bootcampdrivers.com driver?
If there is not a need for this modded driver here at bootcampdrivers.com in that circumstance, then this post is void lol
PRE-INSTALL OF THE BOOTCAMPDRIVERS.COM DRIVER:
Before installing the bootcampdrivers.com driver, everything works fine. Since my game is fortnite and they recommend the older 22.2.2 version of the driver, that's what's installed on my machine and it works fine. even if i choose to update to the newest version of the AMD drivers , the latest version of the AMD drivers ALSO work perfectly (other than in fortnite, which is why i choose to stay at 22.2.2 until those issues are resolved). so overall, pre-installation of the bootcampdrivers.com driver, everything works peachy (other than whatever performance I'm not getting by not having the bootcampdrivers.com driver installed)
POST-INSTALL OF THE BOOTCAMPDRIVERS.COM DRIVER:
I watched the 30+ minute video on how to properly install the drivers and followed it to the letter (even doing exactly what was recommended by wiping out the old drivers/software completely 3 times, doing it under a safe boot, etc..). The result is that the driver seems to kinda 1/2 install. the computer boots and device manager sees the card as the correct card but has a little warning symbol on the driver (see linked pic). the computer itself seems to functional normally until i launch fortnite and then i get the error you see in the other linked pic).
So I tried, a total of three times, to completely wipe it out again and reinstall, identical results.
However, there was one small difference between the first time i installed it and the subsequent other two: after the first install the little radeon icon was in the task bar. for the other 2, it didn't appear to do that. but either way, the result was the same on all 3 installs.
I have no idea why this isn't working.
CAN UNDO:
Just wanted to note that I can very easily and successfully de-install the bootcampdrivers.com installation and go back to the stock radeon driver install without issue, and then use everything (including fortnite) no problem.
