It is strange that there are problems with some MBP 16" users.. It sounds like we all install it in the same way but with different resaults... Corret me if I'm wrong, but I think most of them has either a eGPU or an external monitor connected. I think that might have lead to some issues.

I have no eGPU or external screen connected 😕 Only my external ssd to launch my games.

I've tried clean installation without external display.
Same thing... Neither blue nor red edition work when launching game in full screen mode

MBP 16" 5300M i7
Installed blue edition without any issues, doing DDUx3 + OpenCL install
Core clock is doing less jumps than with january edition. Seems to have a more stable performance.
I've seen that in some games the GPU throttling goes back to normal after some time of throttle (and the temp going down ). Will check on this.

And I use an external monitor... Okay macbook 16 friends. This is what I did that worked. - Run DDU without restart in regular windows. - Run AMD factory reset, but don’t restart computer from this app. - Restart the computer manually to go into safe mode. - Once in safe mode, run DDU without restart two times. Then run it once more WITH restart. - When you reboot, AMD should be installing drivers automatically from startup.

If you run it from bootcamp or external hard drive? I have the same configuration but I can't get the April drivers to work, as soon as I run a game in full screen I crash and black screen with restart.

I have a base model 16 in. Got red drivers working first time and noticing improved performance in doom eternal. Game no longer crashes when I’m pushing the graphics card in 2k or 1080p using high or medium settings. Also been playing prey 2017 with relatively smooth 55-60 fps in 2k on high. I did not install reinstall open cl.

The majority of us having trouble with mbp16 is w/black screen when launching games. You had troubles installing the drivers, don’t think what you said it’s the solution for us. But will try to see !

2019 MBP16 5500m is up and running on red and blue drivers. I settled on red as my final solution. I’m using the latest windows beta and the EFI fix for EGPUs. It seems like the guys that are having problems are on older versions (1903 or earlier) or perhaps using an older pci.sys.
I tried using an older pci.sys and had the black screen and shutdowns. It seems like the old pci.sys is not compatible with the new drivers or newer versions of Windows.
5500 internal and 5700XT EGPU are performing well, thanks for your hard work.
I couldn’t get the March drivers running, but Jan and Apr are both rock solid.

Blue edition work great on MacBook Pro 16 5500m here. Seem to be getting better sustained clocks with more power tool tweaks compared to January. Noticed the Blue edition installed red software, no bother to me rather have the red software not sure if it's a fluke or not haha. Thanks again Matt! Both and the red and the blue versions fail for my MBP16" 5500m 4GB. Screen turning black and system turning off upon trying to launch a full-screen game like most others here. From reading the thread it seems that these drivers have worked for some 5300m owners but no 5500m owners other than the one quoted here. He was using the "mistake" hybrid red/blue driver. Can the download link for that be put back up so we other 5500m owners can try it? Alternatively, themarkness do you have the installer still and could upload and share perhaps?

By "latest windows beta" do you mean latest in the slow ring or fast ring of the Insider Program? Which build number?

Failure (hard lock, no display, keyboard non responsive then shut down with full speed fan spin) upon connection of external display via Apple HDMI multiport adapter (repeatable). Failure (same as previous with built-in display) upon starting game (any, Just Cause 4) April Blue drivers tested twice so far after performing instructions in video and also after reading through this entire thread. Reinstall Jan Blue drivers, no issues, external works, games work.
MBP 2019 16" 32GB, 5500M, 1TB Winver 1909 (18363.778)
- Uninstalled AMD software from APPS and Features - Ran DDU at least twice without restart -restarted into safe mode and ran DDU again at least twice and then once with restart -ran April Blue driver install with Factory Reset option -then ran OpenCL SDK install
Tested plugging in external monitor, immediate hard lock and power off restarted and tested without external monitor connected, only built-in display, initiate loading of Just Cause 4, hard lock and shut down
Reinstalled Jan Blue drivers, no issues
I tried the April drivers yesterday, then read through this entire thread seeing that some others were not having the same issues whilst others were, gave it a go again this morning heeding advice about cleanup and install however same repeated failure.
