I am working on an iMac 27" Late 2017 512GB SSD 32GB RAM Radeon Pro 580 (8GB) with Boot Camp 6.1 (on Catalina 10.15.4). I have done some benchmark with 3DMark and see that the original Apple Boot Camp drivers for the GPU has little better performance results (check attached screenshots).
Now I wonder why I should install the BootCampDrivers with which I also have sound problems (no sound anymore after installing). Or are there any other benefits that I don't see.
Any idea?

Biggest benefit is compatibility with newer games. You get all the features that a Radeon gaming PC would have with the red drivers for gaming. However, not all features, especially recording, are guaranteed to work. Small differences in numbers in those same benchmarks don't really show in real world benchmarks. Reboot your device and update your Boot Camp drivers via Apple Software Update. I used to have sound cutoff issues on a T2 MBP, but they went away after Apple released an update last year.

These drivers have huge fps gains in games compared to official drivers. Software benchmarks do not demonstrate this difference. Try gaming benchmarks.

I played two of my fave games, Metal Gear Solid V and Left 4 Dead 2 (both actively played on a weekly basis, with 900+ hrs on each to date) used the stock boot camp AMD driver for a month and been using the latest Red bootcamp driver for about a month now. Didn’t notice any improvement in performance, my MBP still thermal throttles and cuts GPU clock by half when hitting 74°C.
