A bit of a clickbaity title here but also not really. I wanted to show a glimpse of how good Warframe looks on a Note 9 in 21:9 aspect ratio using Steam Link. Now, I took the photo in direct morning sunlight at the opposite end of the apartment of where my Wi-Fi router is so it WAS bugging out a bit when taking the photo (that's why the compression is so strong. Maybe I'll take a better photo? Or even do a video even if anyone is interested to see how it plays.)
I might have to reinstall the game because my computer hard crashed while I had it running in the background and now it has all sorts of issues with Steam Link.
But honestly, the first time I tried this, surreal experience. The lag was imperceptible. It looked incredible, played really well with the sensitivities for Look and Aim adjusted right and the top and bottom frames of the Note 9 make a perfect frame around the image with the black bars that the 21:9 aspect ratio leaves.
I honestly think this looked like next-gen handheld graphics. The HDR setting in the game was turned on and graphics were all maxed out but film grain was disabled.
You can easily stream the game to output in 720p on the phone and not notice a big difference between this and 1080p. The input resolution, that one on the PC side of things is a custom one of 1080 by 2560. I had to add it in the custom resolution section of my bootcamp drivers.
The controllers are called Razer Junglecat.
Anyway, thought this would be a cool show and tell
