Hi, Here are some benchmarking results. I overclocked the Macbook Pro 2016 with 460 and used the Crimson ReLive 17.2.1 Gaming Edition driver. Heaven Benchmark 4.0 @2560*1600 Overclocked 1000MHz Core 1500MHz Memory Normal 907MHz Core 1270MHz Memory Rise of the Tomb Raider @1920*1200 + custom settings (don't care about the German text Overclocked Normal If I overclock the Memory even more the Core MHz gets unstable. I could also higher the Core, but Im too afraid. Whats the worst that could happen? How much more could I overclock? Shouldn't the fps results be higher with these overclock values? Thanks for the great drivers!!

Trial and error is the only way to find out. Worse case is the computer will crash and restart (and you therefore lower the overclocking amount). What resolution is this being run at?

Used full resolution for benchmarking (2560x1600)
Edit: Overclocked even more and updated the first post (1000Mhz, 1500Mhz). Tried to get even higher, but apps/games crash directly as soon as they try to show 3D stuff. Strangely the computer isn't rebooting, it's just the specific app/game crashing. Also added benchmark results for Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Have you expirienced thermal clocking , or anything ? Im using relive 17.4.1 , did the overclocking too but when playing Heroes of the Storm I can be gettung 100fps, but then I get a message that says REDUCED CPU POWER DETECTED and it goes as low as 25 - 30. Im on a macbook pro 16 w. TB. I dont remember that happening , but I cant be sure, i dont know if its the newer drivers or anything else, or a setting on windows im missing. Battery is plugged and its set to PERFORMANCE MODE.

The laptop is getting too warm so the CPU is throttling. Do you really need 100 fps? Try limiting to 60 fps.

No i dont need them, im fine with 60 or less yeah, But I dont recall that happening. Btw i checked the temp on the CPU cores, its 60-63C and on the GPU is only 59C

Were you overclocking with Afterburner or Wattman? I tried overclocking with Wattman to 950/1500 with the XG Gaming Edition drivers and was getting a lot of system crashes, it got to the point where I couldn't even boot into windows properly and had to do a system restore. However, I'm currently overclocking to those same speeds successfully using the stock Bootcamp drivers and Afterburner. I'd really like to install the XG drivers for the enhanced features, but I'd also like a stable system. On another note, did you mess around with the voltage? Mine gets quite hot at 950/1500 even with the fans manually set to max speeds. Granted, the awful Spanish summer weather isn't helping much, but I'd like to see how far these cards can be undervolted.

have you tried using MSI afterburner to overclock with the XG drivers? AMD wattman is only actually supposed to be compatible with desktop cards which may explain why it wasnt stable.

That would make sense. Actually, I'm downloading the newest XG drivers right now to try them with Afterburner, I'll let you know how it goes

can you let me know if doing that actually sorts out the stability for you? thanks.

In my experience for most games 950/1500 is fine, but I've found on very demanding games (or not so well optimized ones) like Assassin's Creed Syndicate, I get some microstutters. I'm currently experimenting with lowering the memory clock, will update if I find a stable balance after more play sessions.
*Also playing on a MBP 2016 Radeon Pro 460, OC w/ Afterburner.

Some updates: overclocking the 460 seems to be game dependent - it doesn't do well when it has to handle a lot of complex shaders. At 950/1450 I was able to get an additional 10 fps out of Overwatch with no issues, but Witcher 3 and PUBG start stuttering very badly after 10 minutes or so even at 937/1320. Will keep testing.
*Edit: Messed around with my overclocking settings, looks like enabling Power Play allows 950/1500 to work stably on all games.

I'm wondering if OC on this MBP is dangerous . It's not like a PC where evry composent can be changed separatly you know what i mean.
BENCHMARK : V3 bootcampdriver FURMARK PRESET: 720 with 907/1270 33FPS PRESET:720 with 907/1556 38FPS PREET:720 with 907/1618 ((MAXIMUM)) 41FPS
PRESET:720 with 967(max before crash)/1518 36FPS PRESET:720 with 1000/1618 41FPS STABLE PRESET:720 with 907/1618 40FPS STABLE
Notice in game, luminosity is diferent with Memory Clock at maximum.

Don’t OC a MacBook, you’ll shorten its lifespan as the thermal design isn’t meant for OC, hell it can’t even run both the CPU and GPU at full power w/o throttling to a crawl.
