I have some really basic novice questions; sorry to trouble you with them, but if anyone could help me unravel the confusion, I would be most grateful:
1. Ran Apple Software Update, it installed something called Boot Camp something (can't remember) Version 6.1.14 successfully, but afterwards in my tray at the bottom of my screen, when I right-click Boot Camp and then clicked About Boot Camp, it just says Version 6.1. Why?
2. Can I simply install all the driver updates that Windows Update offers me, or are some of them not compatible, not optimal or not totally secure on a MacBook Air machine? Does Apple provide a list anywhere online of device drivers (for Intel graphics, etc.) that it recommends or approves? If so, does Apple update that list from time to time?
2.5: Intel says its latest display driver (for UHD Graphics 617) includes security improvements (so I guess it would be good to have), but I don't know if it is totally compatible or totally secure for my MacBook Air machine? (Or is it "too new" of a driver for my machine?) How can I found out? Is there a list online? (I can't call Apple because I don't have their phone support service.)
3. Windows Update installed Apple Inc. -- System -- 6.1.7800.11 on my machine. What is that? Is it for just a small *part* of the system that would be equivalent to some little components listed under System Devices inside Device Manager? Or does it include *all* (or most) of the various hardware device drivers that Apple recommends for my machine to work in Windows?
4. Apple officially says that macOs updates may include Boot Camp updates, but what does that mean? Just for the Boot Camp utility? Or also including the actual device drivers themselves?
5. In macOs, under Boot Camp something, if you use "Download Windows Support Software", is that a recently updated collection of drivers? Or just an old set of basic drivers?
** By the way, I don't use my computer for gaming, so I don't need my drivers to have any special performance or clocking enhancements. Mainly just interested in updated security and, if possible but not crucial, battery-power-saving.
Thanks a million for all your patience in reading all these noob questions and answering any of them that your time permits.
