The part that confuses me (5700xt) is that Passmark runs all the 3D tests perfectly. That includes DX 9, 10, 11, and 12 in intensive tests. I've even run them individually on 4K, ultra settings tests for several minute loops with the bootcamp drivers, and no crashes at all, performance about 5-10% better than the Apple drivers doing the same tests.
But every game (games that run great with the Apple drivers) crashes within 30 seconds. Baffles me what could be different between the tests and the games, driverwise, that causes a crash. Other than, maybe... audio or controls? Or some use of shader caching?

i installed the red drivers on my 2020 imac 5700 xt and my fan is blowing full blast. can't seem to figure out how to get it to stop. this is the first time i've ever installed these drivers on my mac before, followed the instructions with the DDU and factory reset, install went well, except for after installing i had my display as a mirrored display on my main display. was able to fix that by changing resolution settings.
looking for any insights here on how to get the fans to turn off.

I'm going to release dedicated drivers possibly tomorrow or Monday for macbook pro 16and imac 2020 to see if I can fix the issues being reported that way. Otherwise if it doesn't then the the issues lie with AMD and will need to come from them.

To control your fan, you can install MacFansControl: crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control

Try updating via device manager from January edition or stock drivers. Don't use DDU. Okay. Used DDU now. Clean install Stock drivers, then used device Manager to Update driver from there. Gebootet, and ist seems to Work. Installed amd Software then and now, no Black screen. Hello, can you explain how to update from device manager? Thank you

More findings.. Reinstalled Blue Driver and tested Unigine Heaven. Achieved: 2 FPS with DX11 and OpenGL was almost not working at all. It didn't crash win10.
Cleaned and installed Red driver. Device Manager reports that the drivers is working properly. However I found an Error in Event Viewer:
- <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP" Guid="{9c205a39-1250-487d-abd7-e831c6290539}" /> <EventID>411</EventID> <Version>0</Version> <Level>2</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Opcode>0</Opcode> <Keywords>0x4000000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2020-10-03T10:18:20.9843017Z" /> <EventRecordID>1845</EventRecordID> <Correlation /> <Execution ProcessID="4" ThreadID="11024" /> <Channel>Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP/Configuration</Channel> <Computer>DESKTOP-8F46I2J</Computer> <Security UserID="S-1-5-18" /> </System> - <EventData> <Data Name="DeviceInstanceId">PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_7319&SUBSYS_021B106B&REV_40\6&39763615&0&00000008</Data> <Data Name="DriverName">oem69.inf</Data> <Data Name="ClassGuid">{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}</Data> <Data Name="ServiceName">amdkmdag</Data> <Data Name="LowerFilters" /> <Data Name="UpperFilters" /> <Data Name="Problem">0x0</Data> <Data Name="Status">0xc00000e5</Data> </EventData> </Event>
With the Red driver Unigine Heaven performs at 6 FPS with DX11.

Red drivers are working flawlessly so far on my MBP16 5500M. I played Star Wars Squadron on VR for about an hour and no performance issues whatsoever. Also noticed that GPU freq goes down to 0mhz when unused whereas on the Sept release it did only to 400, so I guess that’s a good thing as it might save some battery.
Edit: I’m on windows 10 dev channel playing on the internal screen and followed the DDU x 3 procedure. I never had the issues described here in the forum, not even with previous releases.

I installed the October Blue drivers on my 2020 iMac with the 5700XT last night and the fan started blowing mach 5 as soon as Windows loaded. Thanks Mat HD!

16 inch with 5300M with 5700XT eGPU (Razer Core X) So far so good, no problems (same FPS as before).
For those asking how to update through device manager: Have working drivers installed (official Apple or previous from this site that work, doesn't matter) Open device manager and select your gpu. Right click - update drivers. Select "Browse my computer for driver" and point to the folder that you extracted the drivers from this site. (have include sub-folders ticket) After the drivers have updated(not, I rebooted after this step, but I think the guideline was not to reboot), open up setup.exe in the drivers folder (the same one that you pointed to) and install WITHOUT "factory reset"

Thanks Matt, so far so good for 2017 iMac Pro Vega 56 on Win 1909. Tested on Star Wars Squadrons with no issues.
Used standard installation (DDUx3).

Just curious as now that I've installed thermal pads, my 5500M performs very well. What other games have you tried in VR? And what VR headset do you use and how is it set up?

Hi Mat, I just installed the latest October Red drivers for the MBP 16' using the Device Manager method, and restarting after running setup.exe. Radeon ReLive still only displays a green screen for recordings. I reinstalled the OpenCL SDK thing from the driver folder. Is there any planned fix for ReLive on the 16' MacBook Pro? Drivers seem good so far other than that! I'll play more and report if anything unusual is happening.
