Hi! I have the same model as you, but I have the 8gb version. As far as I'm aware, that shouldn't really affect things until resolution is above 3k. Anyway, I recommend downloading MacsFanControl and setting it to "full blast". After that, you should use the newest AMD bootcamp drivers you can. Many 5500M users cannot install anything newer than the January drivers, including me. Besides that, just putting the settings on all "low" or "off" should also help. You can also lower the resolution scale to increase frame rate. I usually get 50-60 FPS then it drops to the mid 40's. Until 5500M users can update our drivers past the January versions, there's not much we can do at the moment. The only other way to guarantee yourself more FPS is to get an eGPU. I hope this helped!

Bro why are you going for the january version rather than the april?

5500m here~ I get a constant 67 FPS (the cap I set it to). Download Quick CPU and set it to base speed (2.3ghz). Use MacsFanControl. Lastly if you want, turn off some cores. Go to Msconfig and set processors to either 12 or 14 (6 or 7 cores).
Another trick is to use the official AMD drivers and manually "update" it to use the Radeon RX580 Series.
MY current settings in WZ are pretty much Normal/Low and SMAA 2x

Bro why are you going for the january version rather than the april? Because for many 5500M users, including myself, installing anything newer than January causes a black screen and Windows crashes.

This really solved my problem with some Steam games! Thanks!

I have your same exact mbp. My solution is limit gpu to 40 w with morepowertool and limit cpu to 25w, this allows a lower but stable performance without throttling. I play gta5 all maxed out at 75% native resolution. I also limit 30fps with riva and stay with stock drivers cause every alternative driver have some problem unfortunately (black screen, no external ect)
