Spoke too soon. The problem has returned. I have no clue as to why I was able to play the game for half an hour without a hiccup. I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Apple yesterday. We couldn't find a smoking gun anywhere. Today I restored a Winclone backup made eleven days before I installed the 2021-002 Mojave Security Update. I launched the MCC and left it sitting in the main menu. It took less than five minutes for it to hang with the very loud noise roaring out of the speakers. Deja vu. The last two times I've run Winclone the image file has failed to verify. I'm very afraid that there's a serious firmware/hardware issue. I'm installing the Mac versions of Modern Warfare 2 & 3 to give the GPU a workout on the Mac side. I'm at a complete loss as to what to try next. Suggestions welcome. I'd call Apple again tomorrow but I'm scheduled for a root canal I can't afford. Wish me luck.

Problem SOLVED (probably)... Yesterday there was a kernel panic during a (yet another spontaneous) restart so when the Desktop appeared there was a panic log right in my face: *** Panic Report *** panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff8008abbb69): "Possible memory corruption: pmap_pv_remove(0xffffff806ad6d140,0x7f99998e1000,0x3a000, 0x3a000000, 0xffffff98d0e1baf4, 0xfffffeb483f66708): null pv_list, priors: 2"@/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/xnu/xnu-4903.278.56/osfmk/i386/pmap_internal.h:840
I quickly copied the text before the dang thing crashed again. After a call to OWC I downloaded and ran Rember: Rember home pageI hadn't heard of Rember in ages and don't recall that I ever used it. Amazingly, it still works in Mojave even though it hasn't been updated in almost elevent years. In less than 90 seconds it aborted the test because it found a bad address. And so out came the 8GB of Apple RAM. The bad news is that I only have 32GB of RAM now. The good news is that I can spend two solid hours playing Halo Reach again. Next step: restore the Winclone backup of Windows 10 with the February 2021 RED driver installed and pray it isn't corrupted. And let Rember run all night in Safe mode. And put the RAM hatch back on.
