I used the January 20 red drivers. I used morepowertool and played around with the settings and tested it in games. What I did was I Raised the minimum frequency and put the max voltage a little higher and it worked perfect. I got a stable 55 FPS in r6s with ultra settings normally. Now I get an average of 90 FPS in r6s. You just got to play around with the settings and find out what works best. Oh and also what’s the average clock speed, gpu power and temp you’re having while gaming ? For my GPU clock speed I get anywhere from 925-1200 it usually hovers at a 1000. GPU temp is 76. I haven’t monitored the power. So I don’t know that.

I think you missed my first message : « There’s 2 version of the red drivers : Red gaming edition (best FPS in games) January 2020 and Red V2 gaming edition (non-gaming software, emulation) January 2020. Which one did you pick? So you didn’t change any other settings than voltage and minimum gpu clock on MPC ? I’ve trouble understanding what it changes and don’t know what’s the minimum I can put and the maximum without killing the gpu, could you explain please?🙂 »

U don’t need to ask such a simple question. 2nd the max and min are set, all I did was raise the min and raise the voltage I recommend not to change the max ONLY the min. Lastly, have you even tried it? The reason you don’t know is because you haven’t tried it. All you have to do is play around with it. Hopefully you know to start small then gradually increase the settings while monitoring temps. It took me 30 mins to figure it all out. What i did was use MSI afterburner to monitor usage, temps, and fps. Then I configured the MorePowerTool setting to the way I felt good about. Really this whole process is a lot simpler than you think. Hopefully you know all you need. Best of luck.

Thank you so much!! Finally smooth 60fps@1080p without microstutters for State of Decay 2 Juggernaut at high settings! I bought the Macbook Pro 16" for work but its really surprising to realize it can also play games now! Really wondering about the ARM Macbook Pro which will be released maybe next year. Somehow i think we can't play windows games on it well... This topic should be stickied!

Note: More Power Tool does nothing when clicking the "load" button. Im unsure if its my version (1.2) or if its because of my 5300M. But i havent been able to modify via MPT Ive been doing tests by limiting the CPU wattage, which below a certain value (CPU -10W) the GPU throttles clock by creating a cpu bottleneck. So this way ive been able to force max core clocks of 400, 600 or 1000hz At first I thought it had to do with the 80ºC temp limit for the gpu but ive found this: - I've been able to sustain a 1200hz clock during menu/pause screens (god knows what games have going on there) during more than 10 mins (average time for throttling is 4mins ). But it ends up throttling - I've managed the gpu to never go beyond 75º , and it throttles after 8-10 minutes - Ive been sustaining 80-85º and it also throttles So now im worried that its something maybe time bound? or power outage bound? Someone mentioned it could have something to do with the VRAM Temp, I might give it a look I have the 5500M but I’m experiencing the exact same issue, GPU temp is always rising to 83°/86° With 50W At 1200Mhz then throttle to 40W at 900Mhz... I tried different MPC settings but it never really changes anything for the temp 👎🏻 Did you look into VRAM temp ? 🤔

Hello everyone, I have the same problem with the fall of FPS. It happened a month ago. This has not happened before. Division 2 passed WITHOUT falling FPS and falling frequencies of the processor and video card. Let's think about what happened a month ago? And why did this happen? I apologize for my English, but I'm from Russia.

Guys. Ive chenged my thermal past to liquid metal (Search in google for the guide) on my MBP 16 with 5500m 4gb. So now i have no throttling or smth like this. Ive bought Samsung Odyssey VR and now im playing into HL Alyx. It's brilliant.

And be careful with liquid metal!

And be careful with liquid metal! Wow I would be so scared doing that! What GPU temp are you hitting in game with the new thermal paste ? Can't find a way to avoid throtling, temp are always rising at 86°C when gaming, that's annoying!

It’s 60fps on medium settings in HL Alyx almost everywhere. Amazing.

Hi all and thank you nice driver support. I make work and play games with my iMac 27", i9 9900k, Vega 48 and 40GB ram. Installed fine and everything works like train's toilets. First DDU and reboot. Then I install Blue drivers with factory reset and restart. Then Red drivers without factory reset. Works great!
Was running for testing newest drivers from apple and made some quick tests with cs:go. I always using ThrottleStop to disable turbo-boost. Without it cannot play games at all because of heating and throttling. With MacBook Pro I used power settings to make max cpu 99% to disable turbo-boost.
So.. cs:go min/med quality and no browsers or anything else no-need-programs running at background. Windows 10 and games on USB 3 SSD.
Apple drivers: 5k: 98 fps 1080p: 409 fps
Blue 20.3.1: 5k: 111 fps 1080p 399
Red 20.3.1: 5k: 115 fps 1080p 399 415 fps
I wonder red drivers have more impact to more complex games. Didn't have time right now test more games. i prefer using 2048x1152 resolution in games with 5k display, because 1920x1080 would be 2.66x smaller resolution than 2048x1152 what is 2.5x smaller. You can notise that on sharpness.

It works but just need to adjust a bit lower I guess I had a fps drop after 5,10minutes but nothing compared to like before I mean just 10,20fps drop on cod before I had like 50,60 fps drops but man I tried in cs now it feels like a new game you should create a new topic and post there and Mat needs to pin at top but ofcourse again like he said just use at your own risk but hey im not overclocking lol just undervolting to keep that sheeeet stable (: U cant imagine how many thanks you are getting man thanks for the share thank god Sounds good, can can you tell a bit more about the change in CS:GO? And also how you did it? I play that game a lot, and anythng from 100-300 fps.. and i would like to have et stable.

Hello everyone , on the same situation here. After numerous tests trying to make the COD Warzone stable still its completely unpredictable. (working on a second screen with the laptop screen disabled in windows.)
At the moment I am running Morepower tool + Macs fan control + monitoring with msi afterburner + throttlestop on the CPU capped at 2.8Ghz, haven't disabled anything else on throttlestop. Every run I try is never exceeds 80 with some spikes on the cpu at 85 and coming back down.
After stress testing the laptop on rendering engines I can see that conservative settings on these tools work BUT somehow performance inside the game is very unstable. It MUST have to do with some games being very inefficient on working with GPUs from one point on its not the laptop throttling. ( that is my opinion of course)
When you compare graphs from the COD Warzone and rendering stress test they are very different. The stress test keep the Core clock 800-1200 for example not massive flaxuation on FPS or watt or GPU utilisation or memory clock everything finds a balance even if its set to perform 35-40FPS on 4K BUT
COD somehow manages to mess the performance completely by making the card working on an unstable UP/DOWN loop that ultimately just crashes the game to the desktop. I am sure many people have complained given the fact that around 50milion people play the game!! Hope they can make some updates at their end and we are lucky to get a stable Adrenalin March driver update at some point.
BTW before update 1.18 on COD the game was running on mine stable 60 fps for few days till they made the update all went crazy after that. I'll try to post some graphs later tonight. Is there any English guide on the morepower tools?
