It doesn’t work like that, i try it and Windows simply does NOT reconize AMD hardware when installing it. It has to come uo from the Bootcamp installation package. What i did was installing Windows 10 again, then when the Bootcamp screen shows up on the desktop, i went to File explorer were you can see the PC drive and OSXReserved drive. Inside the OSXReserved Drive you will find the Bootcamp 6.1 driver installation package. I copy them all to my Flash drive just in case i have to re-install the default drivers again. The Bootcamp 6.1 Drivers package is not available Online so this is the only way to get it. Now if they Update the Vega drivers later, i can test them and if they are still broken then go back.

New drivers for Vega 16 and Vega 20 seems to work fine. Tested in a few games. Stable FPS with no BSODs. Good job, Mat.

Changing AMD FreeSync option in any game profile to on with 18.11.2 V2 on Vega 20 will cause Radeon Settings to freeze and eventually Windows itself.

Changing AMD FreeSync option in any game profile to on with 18.11.2 V2 on Vega 20 will cause Radeon Settings to freeze and eventually Windows itself. Freesync is not supported on Macs monitors that's why. The fact that it's there is simply a bug.

Anything that has to do with changing the resolution will take up to 3 to 5 minutes. So adjusting game resolutions or quitting games takes a very long time.

I'm using 18.10.1 on a new 27' iMac Radeon Pro 580 and mostly have been playing Black Ops4. Before I switched to the non-Apple drivers it was unplayable, crashed every game. With 18.10 at first I was getting constant hangs every 2-3 seconds in games (blops4). I noticed in the Display Settings it was using both 'monitor'. I set it to just use '1' with the default 2560x1440 res. Games wont run smoothly any higher res anyhow and I only bootcamp to game. I get solid 60fps with mostly HIGH settings at 2560x1440. Super smooth. Only game I have an issue with is AC Odyssey, it will only run in a super-narrow letterbox. I have read about this with FarCry5…
I have not bothered to update to the latest because there were no specific updates for any of the games I play.
Hope this help, sounds exactly like what was happening to me.

After a few hours, i can say that on 2018 MBP Vega 20 the Adrenalin 18.12.1.1 V2 is simply not worth it as it is right now.
Games like GTAV are crashing, other games take like 5 minutes to launch and to quit. If you change resolution you would be left waiting like 3 minutes or more. IF the game runs at all you wont have a problem but launching, quiting or updating anything from the graphics will just take FOREVER!! Or crashing the game.
I am reverting back to the default drivers until this issue is fix.

That's pretty great stuff, but sometimes it takes a try or two to get it right. If there are bugs with these Vega16-20 cards, which is highly likely since they are brand new (and are only used in MacBook Pro machines for now), then simply report the issues, and drop the temper tantrums and overly dramatic delivery. If you really feel like complaining, call or write to Apple, who are the ones that should have provided us with this service in the first place.

Stop creating Drama were there is none, i tested the driver, it didn’t work, so I reverted back just like i said i would the second time i wrote.

It also seems like AMD's Radeon 18.12.1 software is actually a pretty substantial update which adds new features and expands driver integration with the Radeon overlay. I'm not going to say I have even the faintest idea of how that impact's Matt's work, but conceptually it seems like it would be more complicated than a typical driver update. New software feature, potentially new driver features, plus support for new cards, yikes!
Thanks for the work you do for us Apple users, Matt!
