Please backup your data before attempting installation. As always there is the risk of BSOD. If you end up stuck in a reboot loop, force-restart the machine three times after selecting Windows. From here you can enable safe mode and uninstall the driver. DOWNLOAD 18.9.2DOWNLOAD 18.9.1As always, please report back findings. Thanks!

I just tested 18.9.2, and the GPU temperature seems to be the same as 18.8.2. Performance more or less the same, but 18.9.2 introduced some occasional stuttering in Witcher 3 (which is my main game these days), so I'm be going back to 18.8.2 for now.
Anyways, many thanks for providing all these driver updates. Hugely appreciated!

Dear Mike,
i'm still on Apples 17.5 drivers, because they seem to be very stable to me. All drivers after 18.3 failed for my iMac Pro with a Vega 56 (BOD). What may the safest way to install 18.9.2? Do a complete driver uninstall routine or just try the old way of updating the drivers via system settings, which worked fine up until 18.3? Do you have any suggestions?

Henni, could it be that Vega 64 works better for some reason? Otherwise, I just follow the install instructions to the letter (DDU is very important), and always restart after installing something, before doing another update. I also quit any software running in the background (Steam, Logitech mouse drivers etc.) before installing a graphics driver.
I'm a bit perplexed to see how many here struggles with these drivers, as they've worked fine for me (except for one of the first experimental alpha drivers for iMac Pro). Though, my Bootcamp install is fairly clean, I only use it for gaming and Internet browsing. Don't have any other ideas unfortunately. Hope you can make it work, the cooler and quieter GPU from the last few driver updates is a huge improvement.

I quote another forum user from the 18.9.1 announcement thread for you Henni. It seems 18.9.1 at least does work fine on Vega 56.
"Update for any iMac Pro users... I have the base iMac Pro model with the Vega 56. I have been running the 18.3.4 drivers for a while now and they have been working great. I tried to install the 18.5.4 drivers but was never successful. In fact, trying to install the 18.5.4 drivers would shut down my iMac and leave me unable to boot back into Windows, causing me to reinstall Windows completely.
So I never bothered with 18.8.2 and I was hesitant to try these. But I decided to give it a shot... and I am happy to report that I was able to successfully install the 18.9.1 drivers, although the process was a little strange. I used DDU to uninstall 18.3.4 and then installed 18.9.1. During the install my iMac shut down again like when I tried 18.5.4, and my heart sank. But when I powered it back up I was able to boot into Windows normally. I checked device manager and my graphics card was listed as "Radeon Pro Vega 56". However, I noticed that the AMD control panel did not appear to be installed, so I ran the installer again and it finished without a hitch. After that I had the AMD control panel.
So far everything seems to be working flawlessly. Have tried Destiny 2, PUBG, Battlefield 1, and Fortnite and all are running great and I have not seen any glitches or anything like that. Also seems like the Vega is running quieter, as I am not noticing the fans kick in as often or as loud as they did with the 18.3.4 drivers.
Anyway, that's been my experience so far. Hopefully that helps any fellow iMac Pro users..."

Thanks Mike, i will try again this evening (but making a WinClone Backup first) :-) WinClone is a very good idea, but the one time I got the black screen-bootup issue, I just restarted Windows/Bootcamp three times, and it automatically went into safe mode, where I installed the previous driver again. Still, I always backup Bootcamp with WinClone just in case. Better safe than sorry. Good luck!

Both drivers give me Code 43. Like Always I used a fresh Windows installation and tried different approaches to install the driver. First was the one stated in the ReadMe-file.
Edit: Just tried the quoted installation method. It's bullshit and not working!
