I have a couple basic questions about how to run windows efficiently on an iMac.
Does the screen resolution default (not the game resolution) affect gaming performance? Currently it is set at 5120 x 2800. Not sure if a 1440p resolution would affect the games. I know the iMac essentially has two screens to accomplish the 5k resolution. Does this affect gaming performance as well? How do you set this up?

Don't think so. I just leave the screen on default and I play Destiny 2 at 1440p with no issues.

I set the screen resolution to 2560x1440 and play windowed 1920x1080. I noticed performance improvement on fullscreen (maybe even with the game at 1440p) and much more improvement on deactivating the second monitor. So I'd say that highter resolutions and multiple displays have an impact on performance.

Sometimes in heavy areas it drops to 56 but other than that I feel 1080p is so far from 1440p compared to clarity and detail beauty. Care to share your settings/config?

This is my setup. I haven't updated the driver since.
