I have a concept that may be a notion. My bootcamp system hummed along perfectly for a week until installed Norton Antivirus. After that I would get all those issues about repairing after booting over to Mac. Not sure if there is anything there but I'm going back to the way it first worked without any issues. Hi Savolax, are you saying you installed the AMD RX Vega driver and you didn't have any boot/repairing issues with windows until you installed anti virus? If so I might uninstall my anti virus and try.

Not sure why you have additional Antivirus installed on top of windows defender tbh as it's no longer necessary. (windows defender does a great job and is updated with Windows update almost every day)

I've used malwarebytes and spybot for a long time as I heard they were better than windows defender. I'm not sure if windows defender protects against spyware/adware though? I guess I'll have to test this driver out removing both.

It would be great to hear if the unofficial Bootcamp iMac GPU driver would work without the Antivirus program.
Great to see that people are still on the case, but I have to say it's rather ridiculous that such a big company like Apple can't include properly working GPU drivers with their $5000+ iMac Pro.

Windows defender does pick up on files it thinks could be malicious such as spyware and malware even if it doesn't think it's a virus (from personal experience it's quarantined files which it thought might be keylogging things)

PS: Can you overclock your card with MSI Afterburner or similar software, or in the AMD driver? Vega Pro 56 should be a very overclock-friendly card, potentially giving big performance gains - esp. when gaming. Hopefully the guy who makes Mac Fan Control can figure out how to control the iMac Pro fans, which is a must when overclocking: www.crystalidea.com/blog/fan-control-imac-pro

Amazing, thanks Savolax please keep us posted. Ps I received this email from AMD "As mentioned by Apple, AMD drivers are only available via Apple Bootcamp Assistant. Apple requests drivers/features from AMD and we then develop them. If you have additional feedback, it should be provided directly to Apple which they share with us from their customers. A new driver will be made available via Apple Bootcamp Assistant as soon as it is ready, there is no time frame for when the driver will be ready. Please check Apple Bootcamp Assistant periodically to ensure you are using the latest available driver." I emailed them to confirm this means they are releasing an updated driver and will keep you all posted. I also emailed Craig Federighi so we'll see if I get a response.

Sorry guys but i think uninstalling the virus program is not the clue. I have a clean Win 10 installation and the workaround and still have the repair-issues at start. If windows is running, most of the time the taskbar don´t work at first. But when i sign off and on (right klick on windows-symbol) the system runs fine after that.

Did you install the RX Vega driver or the Radeon Pro WX Series driver? I have the Pro Vega 56 and the Radeon Pro WX works so far but I'll have to keep you posted. Unfortunately the graphics quality is noticeably lower than the RX Vega driver and the Pro Vega bootcamp driver so if anyone is running the RX Vega driver with the Pro Vega 56 without issues please let me know.

I've had similar problems. Did the install, it worked great in terms of performance. Several reboots later left with the windows 10 infinite reboot problem. However I am able to boot into safe mode. If I boot into safe mode then boot into regular windows 10, about 50% of the time I am able to boot up. Hopefully we get fix soon. In the meantime, Matt - Thanks for all the hard work, keep it up! Much appreciated!

Update: I have the infinite boot loop. BUT I boot into safemode with networking (F5 option) by holding F8 + shift on start of windows 10. Then I boot regular and works nearly every time. Kind of annoying, but I willing to do that until I get official drivers...

even when better official drivers come out, this will hopefully mean that the support will be included into the regular PC drivers by default (as it has been with all the other cards), so I can then keep the iMac Pro drivers up-to-date with everyone else.
