The hYbRiD edition combines all the new driver optimizations by AMD with the superb stability of the 17.11.1 release. This is necessary because of a severe graphics driver bug affecting 17.11.2 and upwards where the graphics driver crashes when you try to swap between applications when you are in a game. This is fixed with my hYbRiD release. Note: The installer may think its version 17.11.1. Upon successful installation, restart your computer. Crimson settings should say version 17.11.4. See other changes below: - Support for DOOM VR and Oculus Dash Open Beta.
- Improved support and fixes for Battlefront II.
- Tweaks to the MacPro installation code to attempt to coax back the crossfire profile settings into the Crimson software (please let me know if it has worked!).
- Removed DLighter from the installation package (no longer required).
See other changes in the official AMD release notes. Have a good day!

Just installed the update and the radeon software shows 17.11.1 after installation. Is this normal?

it's only the installer that says that. If you look in Crimson settings after a restart you should see its 17.11.4

Nope, checked the crimson settings after restart and it said 17.11.1. I downloaded the installer again from the site, but hat no time to reinstall it. Will test it out over the weekend and let you know how it goes.
/edited the mistyped version number
/2nd edit
Found the "issue". When starting the installer, I was prompted to selevt between 17.11.1 (local) and 17.11.4 (optional) and I installed optional. Now, I installed the 17.11.1 (local) and after restart I indeed have 17.11.4.

OK I’m in a right mess now. I must have installed and uninstalled about 20 times now. I've had all sort of problems from Blue Screens to just errors installing. Ive had to reset my Microsoft PIN number too. Some software I've got on is asking me to register it!!
I cant get back to a working system.
Please help!!

Ive even tried reinstalling the AMD Bootcamp drivers but they error out too. The DDU uninstaller keeps crashing with the Blue Screen of Death and I am really stuck.
I am having to remove the Boot Camp and start all over again. Just before I put the drivers back on a fresh system though are the latest drivers you've got on here ok for a late 2015 iMac 5k Retina display with AMD Radeon R9 M390 graphics?

Ive had a fair few issues generally with the DDU utility. I get it crash loads when I boot to safe mode. Ive tried various versions.
Is there another utility that you know to that I might try?

Matt. I've just watched your updated video on installing the drivers. Superb by the way. I notice in that you say that the DDU can't boot you into safe mode. I found a setting in Options that you can check that does boot you into safe mode. Do you think that might be my issue? The DDU crashing me on reboot?

ah yes thats what has caused it. DO NOT use DDU to reboot into safe mode as it will break your machine. If you update to the latest DDU version it shouldn't let you do this.

Brilliant. It has!!!
OK I noticed that there was a check mark that every time I downloaded a new DDU version I had to enable. Won't do that again!!
Thanks mate I'll let you know how I get on.
Cheers.
