Hi all,
Just got into the whole bootcamp thing so sorry if this is an easy fix. I installed bootcamp about 2 months ago for school and wanted to get into pc gaming a little. I installed Valorant and is the only title I’m honestly interested in atm. When I initially installed the game about a month ago I had very few issues except minor stutters and screen tearing. As I continued to play these issues got continually worse and I now see frame times upwards of 500ms (sometimes in the 1200ms range) when moving or changing directions but get a stable 40-60 when sitting stationary. This is on all low settings with 2x msaa (changing msaa doesn’t seem to help) Got fed up with it about a week ago and spent a few days trying different drivers and driver versions from amd with no luck. Ended up trying the most recent bootcampdrivers red edition about 3 days ago. On initial install, the game ran perfectly at 80-100 FPS on low-med settings. Decided to restart my computer before hopping into a game to free up some ram space and allow for the computer to cool down a little. After waiting about 10 mins after the restart, I booted up Valorant and my issues returned and got a little worse surprisingly. I’m seeing frame times of 700+ms regularly and peaks at 1500ms when moving around a lot or trying to flick. Tried to reinstall the drivers with no luck, then downloaded a fresh copy of the drivers to try and again no luck. Tried to reinstall twice more while tweaking settings but see no changes. Haven’t found any threads discussing this so I may as well post. I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 15” with an i9 9th gen and 560x. The amd software recognizes that the most recent drivers are installed and my device manager does display the 560x as the display adapter. Anyone have any experience with this issue? Thanks in advance
