Having had zero luck trying to get the M390 working on Windows 10 I now wonder if its possible to try and get it working with Windows 7 (compatibly page says its works apparently).
I have tried installing Windows 7 previously, with no joy due to:
Mac Fusion drive not letting you boot the Windows 7 usb installer
Sierra only lets you now install Windows 10 and nothing earlier
Willing to give anything a go if anybody knows a workaround to install Windows 7

I'm not sure how you would go about it either, but there are posts on the Apple bootcamp support forum about it working in windows 7, and that is "the fix" for error 43. Which isn't really very convenient as a fix to say the least.

Have you gotten any further to solving the problem? Maybe a solution would be to make the Windows 7 partition on an extra disk instead of your fusion drive?

Been looking into it today. Thought I could install an older version of OSX onto an external drive and then create a Windows 7 bootcamp partition on another drive using that. From what I have read though my Mac doesn't support anything earlier than EL Capitan (which won't let you install anything below Windows 8).

Have you seen this video? Not sure if it helps you in this case but perhaps worth trying?

Sadly don't have a dvd drive (internal or external) and for some reason (think its due to having a fusion drive) I cannot install Windows from USB as its not recognised in the boot menu.
