I can add that this method gave a good result too: egpu.io/forums/bootcamp/macbook-pro-16-windows-egpu-error-12-fix/The part with the "You need 1903 version" is with a little* on the end. It turns out, that the problem, when upgrading to a higher windows version, a certain driver for the pci bus gets updated (or at least that's my understanding). After swapping out a certain file (pci.sys, there is some info in the thread) everything starts working again on the latest build.

Yes there's a specific subset of 1903 that works. If you update to one of the newer versions of 1903, even download one of the newer 1903 ISOs, or certain Windows updates it will install a new pci.sys that will likely give you the Error 12. There's a few tricks. 1) Stick to the early 1903 or 18xx builds that worked 2) Upgrade to newer 1909 or beyond, but manually replace the pci.sys in C:\Windows\system32\drivers or 3) wait for new Windows update / get Windows Insider fast update where they seemed to have fixed the pci.sys error 12 issue again (and possibly improved eGPU utilization?)

I just did install of drivers on latest Windows 1909 from Microsoft, no errors, no issues.
Simply instal Windows on external USB3.1 SSD (Samsung T5 515 GB. Size is good enough for windows and few games. Now thinking that should've gone with Samsung X5, well worth extra few bucks. Oh well, it was out of stock at that shop at the time) install uEFI hack for eGPU boot to windows, install bootcamp drivers, safe mode restart, ddu the eff out of it, reboot, run Mat's latest Adrenalin 2020 install with advanced / clear option again. Reboot and BAM. It works.
What mind-boggles me is how nvidia + eGPU pretty much just works with bootcamp but AMD is paying little to no attention to people who are ready to splash some extra money on their top hardware.
I mean, an eGPU + mid-range GPU is more expensive than upcoming PS5!

I just did install of drivers on latest Windows 1909 from Microsoft, no errors, no issues. I have a 2017 MBP with the Blackmagic Design eGPU. I'm having a tough time setting this up. There is a lot of information that I'm finding and I'm not sure who to follow. Is there a light in July of 2020. Help would be appreciated.

This worked very well but now I’m stuck on error 12 and can’t get the AMD580 working. Not sure how to make windows allocate the resources.

I reached the 3rd Checkpoint. Everything seemed to have worked well. I can see the AMD 580 driver but my external monitor does not show. It is still unrecognized. I don't know if I need a BenQ driver, or if I'm missing something. I get an error 12 code. I'm plugged into the top left. When I tried to do it on the right, it didn't even let me install.

Hii!
I can´t make my blackmagic egpu (with AMD Radeon 580 pro) work on my windows, no matter, what I do, the graphic card is not recognized (Error 173 – Radeon Software Install Cannot Proceed as No AMD Graphics Hardware Has Been Detected in Your System Configuration) If there is anyone willing to help, I pay for the offer )preferably with crypto. Thank you in advance
