Hi,
I recently started using Bootcamp to play Final Fantasy XIV
For the most part it's working great, except I have some issues in game. Sometimes I can play for an hour or two, no problems. But frequently, while I play, the game starts to stutter. Every few seconds (maybe 10-20 seconds), it stutters, and the framerate drops significantly. This lasts for maybe 1-2 seconds, and goes back to normal. I have the graphics settings at mid/high, and am getting a constant 60fps. When it drops, it drops to around 20fps for 1-2 seconds, then goes back up to 60.
I tried lowering the settings, which doesn't seem to make a difference.
I tried increasing the graphics everything to highest, and although the framerate drops to around 40-45, it's still very much payable, however the FPS drops are much more significant, dropping to less than 10fps.
I'm using the September red drivers, have not tried other ones yet (and I didn't try using the stock bootcamp drivers so not sure if the issue exists with it) Should I try the blue drivers? One of the older ones? or is there something else I could try?
