Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and thank you for letting me be a registered user. Ok, what's the issue or what/how to do it?
I own a iMac Pro (10-core plus Vega Pro 64 etc) and basically I do all my work on the macOS part. A while ago I decided to use a Thunderbolt 3 SSD for Windows 10 with Apple bootcamp (logically). Using for this WinClone didn't work for me, but I found a movie on the web how to do this with the help of VMWAre, WintoUSB etc which works great. Anyway, I transferred that image to the external SSD, started Windows, installed Apple bootcamp v6.1 and everything is up and running. Although everything looks nice, I'm not satisfied with the overall perforce. I know, it's a Mac, but it should be better in my humble opinion. And also running for my work X-Plane on this Windows 10 drive and that drives me nuts since the overall performance is bad.
Recently I installed via the AMD site their bootcamp drivers, but at the end it turned out that these are the same ones I had already installed. By seeking I found this website and hopefully somebody can guide me a bit in what I don't need to do and what I can do safely. Personally I'm not a favorite of overclocking my GPU, but first things first. I've seen the modified AMD drivers (know something from the past with modified nVidia drivers when I had an older iMac), but I'm not 100% sure how to do this and if there's always a need to first uninstall all other AMD drivers.
Any help is appreciated.
Kind regards,
Angelique

You can clone to external SSDs with WinClone, but you need to buy the more expensive "professional version", or whatever it's called. Just install Bootcamp with Apple's drivers, and then install the lastet iMac Pro driver from Mat (18.11.1) by following his instructions in the included pdf-file. It's very straight forward. You really don't need to bother with WinClone anyway, because I've never had a serious issue after updating the graphics driver.
However, realize the lower CPU clock speed of your setup will cause less FPS in more CPU-bound games. My 8c CPU is at minimum 3.9ghz when gaming, often up and down from 4.0-4.1ghz. I think the 10c sits at around 3.6-3.7ghz, which is noticeable comparing to an Intel CPU running at 4.5ghz or higher. Unforunately you can't overclock/undervolt the GPU in Bootcamp, which is a shame. With the recent drivers, the GPU is running so cool, there is plenty of headroom.
I do recommend getting Macs Fan Control for OSX (doesn't work for iMac Pro Bootcamp), and set fans at static 1800rpm speed and boot into Bootcamp. This way, you'll avoid high temperature spikes while gaming in Windows. The latest AMD GPU drivers have been a huge improvement, as the GPU used to run very hot (still do in OSX by the way). I believe this is a bug in the previous Adrenaline drivers causing unnecessary heat, however don't expect Apple to pay attention to such "minor" details...

Mike, I'm sorry that I missed your reply. Thank you for that. I'll give it a try and let you and other know.
A quick question and advice: Do I need to download/install this -> Win10-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-BootCamp-iMacProVega64-Edition-18.9.3 or this package -> Win10-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-BootCamp-iMacPro-Edition-18.11.1.
The reason I ask is because I own the Vega 64 16GB GPU but at the same time I suppose version 18.11.1 is much newer then the other 18.9.3, BUT just to be sure before doing anything.
Thank for the reply.

The last one (iMac Pro edition 18.11.1 - you need to run the latest AMD driver version, because of recent Windows updates). Just make sure you use DDU when in Windows safe mode (shift + restart button in Windows start menu), then restart Windows before installing Mat's Bootcamp driver.

Is anyone having issues with bluetooth connectivity for the iMac Pro on bootcamp? When I startup, my magic keyboard and magic mouse 2 won't auto-connect. I have to connnect my lightning cable to my keyboard, then use keyboard to open and navigate to bluetooth. Once I search for bluetooth devices, my mouse and keyboard magically connect and there are no problem. However, once I exit the search, my devices will randomly drop a few seconds to a minute later and not auto re-connect.
I've tried everything, flashing SMC, updating windows and apple drivers in bootcamp, removing all bluetooth devices and re-adding, updating windows bluetooth settings to allow devices to "wake" my pc. Nothing seems to work here, a bit frustrating because Windows is basically useless. I'm hoping one of you have had this issue and solved it, otherwise, looks like I'll have to but a wired mouse and keyboard for windows usage (not ideal).

The problem is that some Windows 10 update replaces the Bootcamp Bluetooth driver, and Windows' own Bluetooth driver doesn't work with Apple's peripherals (keyboard, touchpad, mouse). The solution is to download the Bootcamp drivers from Apple manually (as a regular file download), then go into Device Manager in Windows 10, find the Bluetooth device, and update it with the driver in the Bootcamp download - you just have to find the right file folder in the Bootcamp download. Good luck!
