I could go through the usual process of trial-and-error and eventually figure things out - but I have a serious hhankering for a game or two right now at best possible performance, and I'll be perfectly honest and say that I'm not particularly familiar with all of AMD's software and the like - far more used to using MSI Afterburner etc. - so I'm asking for help instead...
Just installed the latest drivers (previous update was from around November) and suddenly incapable of overclocking (or even MONITORING all the usual suspects) using Afterburner... The entire AMD-specific region of the main preferances-pain is greyed-out and inaccessible and I know I need to get that working to be able to do what I'm used to doing...
So. Can someone please tell me what it is I need to do to get Afterburner working again??? Or, failing that, what my best alternatives are if I'm wanting to both overclock and monitor as much of my hardware as possible simultaneously...?
Thanks much in advance for any and all help - and for the opportunity to use these drivers to begin with (versus having to make all the changes one's self)!

Depends on what card you have in your machine. The Pro 500s and some 400s apparently can still be overclocked. Older M295X or M395X have not had this ability for a while now. Not a lot can be done about this I'm afraid as the support all comes from AMD's side.

I would recommend you use a slightly older driver and see if that works. For example 17.12.1 or 18.1 from the older downloads section.

<Sighs> Sadness. Having to go with holder versions if needing to OC. Or hhaving to roll my own driver versions again... I suppose I just should be less lazy and get it done...
In the meantime though, until I get the time for it: It seems v.17.12.1 was the last from your collection that would allow OCing... Could you maybe direct me to the link / url that I could use to get to and download it please Mat?
Ta again!

I would also like to know about this. Mat have you re-enabled overclocking for the latest drivers? If you have not it would be nice to know which are overclockable.

I had a similar problem with my macbook. I updated and afterburner was grayed out and the only thing on my card I could monitor was the VRAM and the Card Usage. Everything else was Sitting at 0 value. Also the driver version was not showing in afterburner to which it was blank. I tried going back to older drivers and that didnt work. I tried older afterburner and that was a fail as well. I then started to get an error to where windows would put up an error along the lines of "Wrong username password" and would reboot.
I was left with no choice but to reset windows and install the standard video driver. I installed afterburner and it was working as well. Next I installed the latest version of X-treme Gaming Edition drivers 18.3.4 and all is working.
Before computer reset.
After reset and all is working.
